Read the text and answer the questions:


There are thousands of species of animals and plants on Earth. However, in the past there were more. In the last 400 years more than 500 species have disappeared; that means an average of more than one species every year. And there are almost two thousand more in danger.

The blue whale, the largest animal on Earth is almost extinct.Many countries are trying to protect their wildlife. Everybody should help in the fight against the destruction of wildlife.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) published a list of the 10 animals of the world that are most at risk of extinction.The first five are:
